Privacy Policy
How we handle your information.
Take n Tora runs private, peer-led programmes for senior leaders and works with a select group of solution providers. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, where it applies to you, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who we are
Take n Tora ([registered company name and registration number]) is the responsible party for the personal information described here. Where the GDPR applies, we act as the controller.
Information Officer: [name]. You can reach us about anything in this policy at support@takentora.com.
2. What we collect
Leaders who request an invitation: your name, work email, phone number, job title, organisation, function, region and organisation size; the focus areas you want to discuss; and, only if you choose to tell us, any challenge or project you want to explore with an outside specialist.
Solution providers: your name, contact details, company, and what your organisation solves and for whom.
During a programme: your session allocation and attendance, and notes made so we can write anonymised insights briefs.
Newsletter: your work email address and your consent.
Website: standard technical information our host records to serve and protect the site, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
3. Why we use it
- To check eligibility and confirm your seat.
- To build your agenda from your focus area choices and run the programme.
- To arrange an introduction to a solution provider, but only when you have asked to explore a challenge and agreed to that introduction.
- To send programme updates, insights briefs and the newsletter you subscribed to.
- To reply to enquiries and consultations.
- To improve our programmes and keep our records accurate.
We rely on your consent, on what is needed to deliver the programme you signed up for, on our legitimate interest in running and improving our programmes, and on legal obligations.
4. When we share it
With a solution provider: only after you have chosen to explore a challenge and agreed to meet that provider. We share only what the introduction needs: your name, role, organisation, contact details and a short summary of the challenge. We never sell personal information and we never hand delegate lists to providers.
With service providers who work for us: website hosting, email delivery, video meetings and our programme database. They process information only on our instructions and under contract.
When the law requires it.
5. Published insights
Insights briefs report themes and practices, not people. We never publish a participant’s name, contact details or words without their written consent. We may say which organisations and job titles have been represented at our programmes, but never in a way that identifies an individual. Any attribution, for example in material shared only with the leaders who attended, happens only with your written opt-in, and covers only the practices you shared.
6. Information that crosses borders
Our programmes bring together leaders from many countries, and some of our service providers store information outside South Africa. When information leaves the country, we use providers bound by law, contract or binding rules that give it protection comparable to POPIA.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, and we review our records at least once a year. Newsletter details are deleted when you unsubscribe.
8. Keeping it secure
We use access controls, encrypted connections and restricted, role-based access to our programme systems. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to confirm what we hold about you and give you a copy, correct or delete it, stop or restrict using it, or withdraw consent at any time. You can object to direct marketing, and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. Email support@takentora.com and we will reply within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za) or to the data protection authority where you live.
10. Age
Our programmes and website are for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
